Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy in Orem, Utah
Women's Health
You Don't Have To Live With This.
Whether you’re navigating life after having a baby, dealing with pain or discomfort that’s been there for years, or experiencing symptoms you’ve never quite had words for — you’re not alone, and this isn’t something you just have to accept.
Pelvic floor physical therapy is one of the most underutilized tools in women’s health. Some women come to us after being told their symptoms were normal. Some were told to do kegels and given no further guidance. Some didn’t know pelvic floor physical therapy existed at all.
At Elevate, Dr. Kate LaRochelle provides individualized, evidence-based pelvic floor care in a private, comfortable setting — addressing what’s actually causing your symptoms and building a plan around your specific body and your specific life.
Why Choose Elevate Fitness for Pelvic Floor Therapy?
Beyond Kegels
Kegels are one tool — and for some women, the wrong one. We evaluate spinal alignment, hip mechanics, movement patterns, and core function to understand the full picture before building your treatment plan. The solution is rarely as simple as squeezing harder.
Personalized care from a certified specialist
Dr. Kate LaRochelle holds advanced certification in pelvic floor physical therapy and women's health rehabilitation. Your care is built around your specific condition and your specific goals — not a standard protocol. Every visit is attentive, focused, and adjusted based on where you are in your recovery.
A full clinical team when you need it
Pelvic floor dysfunction often connects to other parts of the body — lower back pain, hip issues, core instability, nutritional factors. When Dr. Kate identifies those connections, our chiropractor, massage therapists, nutritionists, and fitness trainers are in the same building and on the same team.
One question we get asked a lot
Will I need an internal exam? Only if it's clinically necessary — and only ever with your full consent. There are effective treatment options that don't require internal assessment, and Dr. Kate will always discuss what's appropriate for your situation before proceeding.
What to Expect During Your First Visit
Your first appointment is a full evaluation — not a rushed intake. Dr. Kate will review your medical history and symptoms, assess your posture, movement patterns, and biomechanics, and talk through what’s actually going on before treating anything. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what’s causing your symptoms, a realistic timeline, and a treatment plan built around you.
INITIAL EVALUATION INCLUDES:

Medical history review and lifestyle assessment

Musculoskeletal evaluation — posture, movement, and biomechanics

Patient education on pelvic health and what treatment involves

Discussion of treatment options specific to your situation

A customized plan based on your needs and goals
Our Approach to Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
How we treat pelvic floor dysfunction
Manual Therapy
Hands-on soft tissue mobilization for pelvic muscles, scar tissue, and joint dysfunction — addressing the physical restrictions that contribute to pain and dysfunction.
Biofeedback Training
A tool for retraining muscles that are either too weak or too overactive — helping you develop awareness and control that carries over into daily life.
Bladder & Bowel Training
Practical strategies to reduce urgency, frequency, and leakage — giving you back the confidence to move through your day without planning around a bathroom.
Diaphragmatic Breathing & Core Activation
The pelvic floor doesn’t work in isolation. Breathing mechanics and deep core activation are often central to why symptoms develop and how they resolve.
Trigger Point Dry Needling
For stubborn muscle tension, pelvic pain, and chronic tightness that hasn’t responded to other treatment. Dr. Kate is trained in dry needling and uses it when clinically appropriate.
Postural & Movement Retraining
Correcting the biomechanical patterns that put unnecessary pressure on the pelvic floor — so the work done in session holds up in real life.
Common Women’s Health Issues We Treat

Frequently Asked Questions
What conditions can pelvic floor therapy treat?
Pelvic floor PT addresses a wide range of conditions — urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse, postpartum recovery, diastasis recti, chronic musculoskeletal pain, and more. If you're not sure whether your symptoms are something we treat, call us or book a consultation and we'll tell you honestly.
Will I need an internal pelvic exam?
Only if it's clinically necessary — and only ever with your full consent. Dr. Kate will discuss what's appropriate for your situation before any assessment takes place. Non-invasive treatment options are always available.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients see meaningful improvement within six to twelve sessions, but your timeline depends on your specific condition and how your body responds. Dr. Kate will give you a realistic picture at your first visit and adjust as your recovery progresses.
Can I bring a support person to my appointment?
Yes — you're welcome to bring a friend or family member to any appointment.
Do I need a referral?
Utah is a direct access state — you can book directly without a physician referral. Some insurance plans may still require one for coverage purposes. Call us at (801) 221-9060 and we'll help you figure it out before your first visit.
Are there products I can use at home to help my pelvic floor?
There are ways for you to help train your pelvic floor and help address issues at home in between PT visits. You can find our recommendations here.
Before using any of these products, please consult a pelvic floor physical therapist to make sure these are the right products for you.
